Scholarships 2017

 

The Alliance has a rich history of over 7 decades in our committment to education and providing health career scholarships, and have sponsored over 50 scholarships in just the past 15 years. 

 

For the past three years, the Alliance has partnered with our friends at

SYM Financial Advisors to continue this proud tradition.  This year, our Scholarship Chairperson, Melissa Somerville, and her committee chose Jasmyn Kalsto, a senior from  the University of St. Francis, School of Nursing, who will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship.  Jasmyn earned a 3.8 GPA while also working 3 jobs to pay for tuition, community service, and playing college sports.  She works as a patient care technician in the oncology unit at Lutheran Hospital and will take a nursing position there when she graduates in December 2017.  Congratulations Jasmyn!

 

In addition, this year we partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to offer a $1000

scholarship to Adrianna McNab, 17 years old, with a 3.57 GPA.  She has been a Boys and Girls Club member for 6 years and also received the Red Cross Youth Humanitarian of the Year Award.  Adrianna will attend Huntington University next year with a focus on biology or biochemisty, in hopes of one day becoming a pediatric neurologist practicing in Fort Wayne.  Congratulations Adrianna!

 

We were also pleased to participate in this year's Tapesty: A Day for You event held on

Friday, April 28, 2017, as sponsors along side the Fort Wayne Medical Society,

to award a $4500 scholarship in honor of Dr. John Csiscko.
