Scholarships 2021-22

The Alliance has a rich history spanning eight decades in our commitment to education

and providing health career scholarships; sponsoring over 60 scholarships in just the past 15 years.

Our recent affiliations include:

Tapestry, African-American Healthcare Alliance Scholarship and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Congratulations to all of the scholarship recipients!

We were pleased to participate again in Tapestry: A Day for You as a Scholarship Table Sponsor,

in partnership with the Fort Wayne Medical Society ($4000).

Due to Covid-19, this year's event has been postponed until April, 2023.

"This annual event raises funds for students studying Health Sciences degrees at Purdue University-Fort Wayne,

having raised over $1 million in scholarship funds that have been awarded to 101 students over the last 18 years."

This year, the Alliance was proud to contribute to the African-American Healthcare Alliance Scholarship Ball.

"The mission of the Fort Wayne African-American Healthcare Alliance is to support, promote and enhance the

education of the African-American community regarding healthcare issues as well as assisting in

the development of individuals pursuing careers in healthcare."

We were thrilled to contribute to this wonderful program!

We were excited to partner this year with Big Brothers Big Sisters to provide $3000 toward scholarships for three deserving recipients. Alliance members attended the Gourmet Dinner to meet the individuals and present the scholarships.  Congratulations to all!

This nationwide mentoring network program operates locally in 12 counties throughout Northeast Indiana and Southern Michigan, to make meaningful, monitored matches between adult "Bigs" and youth "Littles", ages 6-22.

"We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people - particularly youth from disadvantaged socioeconomic demographics."
