Cinderella Dress Day

 Cinderella Dress Day is held each spring as a community service event for young women in our community.  

Any female high school student may attend Cinderella Dress Day, and will be invited to select a dress and participate in brief educational sessions.  Since its inception seventeen years ago, it is estimated that over 2,400 dresses have been given to young ladies in our community, with a value of over $240,000.

This year's event was held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 9a-2p, at a new location at the IPFW International Ballroom in the Walb Student Union building, located at 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd., Ft. Wayne, 46805.  We provided FREE dresses and accessories to more than 200 local young ladies!

Although the Alliance hosts this event annually, we do so thanks in no small part to our 12-year community partner, Peerless Cleaners.  Twice a year, in February and March, Peerless Cleaners holds a 4-week campaign to collect gently-used dresses for the event.

Information on a variety of health-related  topics was made available at the event,   including exhibits on the dangers of social   media and health and welfare safety for young women at this critical moment in their teenage years.

The Alliance would like to thank everyone who worked  to make Cinderella Dress Day 2014 such a wonderful event, and we look forward to seeing you all in April 2015!
